Hi looking for information on the dingwells from dunbarton
christina dingwell from shandon hall dunbarton married thomas comrie.
any information regarding her and her husband and their families would be of great help

My Christina Dingwall was born 15 june 1822 in Row Dunbaryon
father: John Dingwall
mother: Matilda Davidson
she married Thomas Comrie and migrated to Australia in the 1860's.
she had several siblings
John, Agnes and Alexander, no real info on them
any info on this family would be great..

i just wonder.....
thomas comrie christened 29/10/1813 lasswade, edinburgh, son of alexander & jane newman.
1851 census- 27 hill street, (lodging house)
thomas...age 36...commerical traveller for ale brewery
thomas and christina also had a son alexander dingwall comrie born 26/10/1851 in row.

thanks for that great info.......hmmm wonder why Thomas and Christina were not living together...or if it was for just the census night...
he did migrate to Australia sometime in the early 1850's leaving her in Dunbarton with the children....she came to Australia looking for him in 1858, never found him though..her parents travelled with her as well as her 2 brothers...but I believe they came back to Scotland as I cannot find records of them here in Aus....
seems strange they would come all that way then go straight back....
any further info you can find would be appreciated, such an interesting family ........
interestingly she had a shop here on the goldfields as well...
