Thanks for that. Can I ask where you found this information as I would like to do more searches?

Hi Linda
This information is available on-line from http://www.familysearch.org . I went to the International Genealogical Index (IGI) section. To do a parent search, simply fill in parents names (and Great Britain/Scotland). Hopefully the children that come up will be relevant to your search. If you get children from more than one couple with the same names you can add time periods and areas to filter down further. The IGI also lets you search for births and marriages.
The data available on Family Search comes from two sources. Firstly trascripts from original extracts of the Old Parish Registers (OPRs) or submitted data by members. For each record you can tell where the data came from. Submitted data whilst useful you should treat with caution as it can be unreliable and should always be verified if possible on the OPRs.
Any more question, please feel free to ask! It's a learning process.
Regards.

Sometimes it's better to leave off the mother's surname in those parent searches, as they often just give her first name only.
