Looking for Hugh and Jane REES of Garthbeibio. In 1851 census they are both born 1799 in Garthbeibio with dau's Jane b 1833 and Margaret b 1837. Lived at Foel I believe. Hugh is a gardener.
Have tracked in 1871 census but can not locate yet in 1861 census which I have access to!

Many thanks to your PM to me, I have only just started on Rootschat and this is only my 2nd posting so as yet I cannot reply to you with a PM.
Regarding our common ancestry:
Evan Rees (brother of your Hugh) married Jane Jones in 1803 in Garthbeibio. They had 6 children (that I have found)- John 1803, Evan 1804, Richard 1809, Rees 1810, Jane 1812 and Mary 1817.
Mary who is my direct line was born in Llanymawddwy in Merionmouthshire. There she married Richard Roberts. Regarding Evan and Hugh's parents I have John Rees (1749-1806) and Jane Humphreys (1752-1801). Johns parents being Rees Jones and Mary Evans.
I have only just really started researching this line. The information comes from the Montgomeryshire FHS transcriptions of the Garthbeibio PR's and I have not confirmed anything yet.

I'll respond here with a posting and once you respond I trust you'll then be able to do a PM.
When in Wales in 2007 I did research at the National Library in Aberystwyth looking at the Parish Records for Garthbeibio plus I have the transcripts - also visited the "Wern" and met the owner who is a third cousin once removed. Go back one further REES generation at this stage. Have been unable to track back any of the women.
Here is a sample of where I got to - have the information sourced - that is what the numbers are in this extract.

Many thanks for the information. I have just ordered the transcriptions for Garthbeibio for the years prior to 1760 from the MFHS which will help me. I must get over to Aberystwyth soon. I have been to Llanymawddwy just across the county line in Merionmouthshire but I did not know then of the Garthbeibio connection.
