I recieved a baptism record from the Chorley Library and can't make out the place.
It looks like Keapey or Heapay.
Any ideas??

Usual spelling is Heapey - on modern maps you'll find it on the north east side of Chorley less than a mile south of Wheelton.
It's only a hamlet but probably included a larger area of farms.

Hi John,
I've found it, many thanks. I've also located on Amazon " Heapey, a Pictoral record of the past" which really wont be of any good use to me in my search for my Baxendales but it will give me an insight to how they lived.
Fitty - watching for the Postman again! lol
