Title: Assessment for the relief of the poor of Marple
Post by: Anette Flewers on Thursday 20 April 06 18:43 BST (UK)
Hi all,

I've just been looking on the LDS Family History Library Catalogue for documents relating to Marple, Cheshire and came accross the following film:

Assessment for the relief of the poor of Marple, Cheshire  1842-1861

Does anyone know what this might contain?  Is it likely to be documents containing a list of persons applying for/getting Poor Relief in the village?

TIA
Netty

Hi Netty

I would have thought that you are absolutely right.  I have seen documents showing who went for payouts and what was given, but not titled the same.

It might be worth contacting your LDS centre to confirm with them before you ordered it ???

Hi Wendi
thanks for your comment regarding the Assessment for Relief document.  Good idea to check with my local LDS center. I'd not thought of that!  :-\    I'll ask when I go to order the burials stuff for Marple.
