Title: John Edward Adams Belfast to Chicago

John E. Adams emigrated from Belfast 1920's to New York (found on Ellis Island site) with family, and located in Chicago 1930's. Belfast relatives lost all contact in later years due to all addresses being lost in house fire. I have some further details about his family, but do not know how to proceed with my search. Any help or suggestions welcome. A M

I can't find the link now, perhaps you can google it, but I believe that Chicago Tribune death notices are available on line as well, and you may find him there.  Did you get any address information?  If so, I'm a native Chicagoan and can tell you something about the neighborhood.

MaryK. This is all the information I have. John Edward Adams emigrated in 1920's and last accounted for in 1930 on census with his wife Victoria and children Matha,Edna,Victoria and son Jacky (John E. Jnr). I was told that upon arrival in USA John had done well but lost all in the Wall St. Crash. Listed on census as a radio salesman. The family were supposed to have owned a hairdressing?beauty?salon in Chicago. JOhn had also been a jeweller when living in Belfast. As mentioned all addresses etc were lost by family here in Ireland during house fire. Only address I have is from the census details.Chicago City,  Cook County ,76 Precinct, House No. 5417, couldn't read original details very clearly. It was a rented house, and John was 38 yrs old,Victoria 36 yrs old,John Jnr. 16 yrs old,Martha 15 yrs old,Edna 11 yrs old, and Victoria aged 8 yrs old. All born Belfast. Year immigrated/naturalized 1921/1924. My father- in -law is the son of John Snr. brother, and we would love to find out about JOhn's family in Chicago as they are his only direct Adams relatives. Any help at all would be appreciated MaryK.
