Title: Cairneyhill
Post by: Malmo on Sunday 09 April 06 23:08 BST (UK)
Hello
To whom it may concern
I have the entire census returns for Cairneyhill covering the years 1841 and 1851.
Cairneyhill is not a big place but if there are any family interests here and you would like a look up, just let me know

I'd be very grateful if you would look for this family in the 1851 census:

Father - Robert Anderson (YOB 1811)
Mother - Margaret Bennie Swan (YOB 1818?)
Daughter - Margaret Scott Anderson (b. 1843 in Cairneyhill)

I would love to have names of any other children, and any other information this census includes.

Thanks very much for your help.
Elizabeth

Hello
Here is some information from the 1851 census returns. The Enumerator was one Alexander Morris, my ggg grandfather. I thought you might like to know that.

         Age               Birth Place
Robert Anderson       38      Farm Labourer      (Torryburn)
Margaret      34      ----         (Keltie)
Robert         12      App Weaver      Carnock
Margaret      10      Scholar         Do
Mary         7      Do         Do
Isabella         5      Do         Do
(Ann)         3      ---         Do
David         (8 mth)      ---         Do

Their address is given simply as 35, village of Cairneyhill.
(  ) denotes my interpretation as to what is written. It’s not clear to me.
The reference to Carnock as the birth place of the children is just as likely to mean Cairneyhill.
If you would like a copy of the extract just give me an e-mail or postal address.
