Title: Robinsons in Donaghedy Parish early 1800's
Post by: J Dickens on Friday 07 April 06 12:13 BST (UK)

I am looking for any information on William and Isabella Robinson, who came over to Australia around 1841 on board the ship "Adam Lodge".

They were both from the parish of Donaghedy and were Presbyterian farm labourers, but i am unsure of the town name.

William was born around 1812 and his parent’s names are Alexander Robinson and Ann McLaughlan
Isabella was born around 1814 and her parents were David Robinson and Elizabeth Kennedy

Any help on this topic would be muchly appreciated

Thank you

At he time the Robinsons came to Australia (around 1841) William's father (Alexander) had died but his mother was still alive. Griffins land aluation is from 1848-1864. I am not sure if the land would still be under the name of the deceased husband?

Isabella's parents were still alive and I found a listing for David Robinson in the townland of Moneycanon. This is the only David Robinson in the parish so this might be the one.

I will continue searching

Hi

Robinson is one of the surnames I am researching.  Going back to the earliest .... I have Andrew Robinson died 1908, married Mary Ann Kennedy - children William, Joseph, Margaret and Andrew (Margaret died New Zealand).  William married Mary Lyons - children Andrew, Robert, May and Joseph.  I have most of their childrens marriages and children.  Hoping there is a connection and looking forward to hearing from anyone.

ROBINSON is a name I am interested in. Mine were Catholic and lived Fermanagh/ Tyrone border late 1880's - 1900's.
I have in my notes a marriage in the parish of DONAGHEADY  between WILLIAM ROBINSON (widower) of TULLYARD, LAB father; SAMUEL to MARTHA DONELLY (widow)  father; ROBERT WOODS on 7th FEB 1850

This is all I have on this particular parish, don't know if it's of any help to anyone as I have no idea if it belongs to my family!
