I am replying to you from memory.
If you have any info of the farm then yes it I would be interested to hear.... need to look up some old files though to match anything up, relating to what info you may have ???

Well I currently live on the farm, and I know it was brought by my great-grandparents but i'm not sure what year that was. I'm going to try and find out more information as we have an old relation (Joan Brean) In the village who will be able to tell me exactly who owned the house, and I can get back to you if you are interested in it.

Hi
It does actually make quite a lot of sense.
We received a letter from Janet Miner in 1982 which she said that she visited the farm two years ago (matching the date of your letter) the relatives she spent the day with were my parents and in the letter she asks for some information on the farm. However since my mother passed away a year ago i'm not sure if we ever replied.
She also says in her letter that she is writing the genealogy of Frank Lewis and his wife but as we never replied I don't know if she ever completed it.
Frank Lewis's sister was my great-great-grandmother so that's how our families are connected. Frank Lewis emigrated to the USA but his sister Eliza Lewis stayed behind and married my great-great-grandfather Henry Merrick.

I hope this helps

 Hi
well thats good news .... I have alot of the info on the family that went to the USA, sadly the family that contacted me didi not reply to e-mails along time ago...
It depends if you want the information that I have? I could photo copy the info and post it to you? that would be easier than scanning info into computer and sending v e-mail.
Regarding contacting the family in Texas  the lady who contacted me was moving so that first address will be no good! but there are others will have to go throught  the documents,
Anyway whats your thoughts on that ???
cheers cardiff  ;)

Marshall1396 and cardiff,
Did this thread continue offline, or is this the extent of it?  Eliza Lewis and Henry Merrick are also my great-great-grandparents, and I am interested in whatever information you may have obtained.  I am descended from their son, John Lewis Merrick, brother of Frank and Walter, one of whom from Marshall1396 must be descended, since my understanding is that Eliza and Henry's other two children, Marie and Philip had no children.
Thank you for any information,
Jtmcvey

My 4th great grandparents are Fredrick Lewis/Ann Hawkins, Frank Lewis was my 2nd great grandparent. I am looking for information about them. It seems I hit a wall around Fredrick Lewis/Ann Hawkins burial records being in Downside/Backwell.
