Being baptised in the Particular Baptist Church in Westoning does not necessarily mean the person was born there. People often travelled miles to their particular flavour non-conformist church. Here's the 1851, which I assume you haven't seen

HO107/1755 folio 320B
Dunstable St, Toddington
William Thackry head marr 57 currier b Middlesex Holborn?
Sarah Thackry wife 56 b Wellingborough Northants
John Thackry son unm 27 Currier b Eversholt Beds
Timothy Thackry son unm 24 currier b Eversholt
Caroline Thackry dau unm 20 b Eversholt
Naomi Thackry dau 18 b Eversholt
Rebecca Thackry dau 16 b Toddington

So in 1841 they should have been in Eversholt, but I can't see them. Eyes are crossing. I'll have another try tomorrow.

Regards

David

Hi David

You are right  ;D he is not in the village or Husborne Crawley or Aspley Guise.

I should go down the county hopefully it won't be long now for Ancestry to put it on line.

Cheers Sandy

Thanks Sandy, that saved me double checking Eversholt. He was actually in Toddington in 1841,

HO107/005-34-2 folio 9B
Dunstable St Toddington
William Thackray 45 Currier Not born in county
Sarah Thackray 45 Not bic
Elizabeth Thackray 25 Not bic
Mary Thackray 23 Not bic
Sarah Thackray 21 bic
John  Thackray 19 bic
Ruth  Thackray 12 bic
Caroline  Thackray 10 bic
Naomi  Thackray 8 bic
Rebecca  Thackray 6 bic
Timothy  Thackray 14 bic
William Haynes 21 apprentice bic

So the Thackray family could put out a complete football team, and take the apprentice along as the referee!

Regards

David

Hello Gladys
Some 4yrs ago you posted a query for a Census lookup of Naomi Thackray in Bedfordshire, and received the information quoted below. Yesterday I did a search on Rootschat for my Thackray family in Doddington and arrived at your post.

The family in the 1851 Census reply includes my 3.gtGrandparents and my 2.gtGrandparents. How can this be? .... well, the parents William and Sarah are my 3.greats, and their daughter Mary married William Haynes - the apprentice currier at the bottom of the list.

What I'm getting around to is .... do you have any information on the ancestors of either William Thackray or his wife Sarah nee Hensman?

Hope this reaches you.

John

Thanks Sandy, that saved me double checking Eversholt. He was actually in Toddington in 1841,

Dear Gladys1

I've got a lot of stuff on the Thackrays. The Naomi you look for was in fact my great-grandmother!

Let me know if you want more
