Flushing was enumerated with Mylor in 1841:
HO 107/138
Book 10 Folio 24 Page 2
Moor St.
Ann Wood, 30,
William Eden, 7
Samuel Wood, 2
Samuel George Hart Wood was chrs. 14 Mar 1839 in Mylor, Cornwall, to William Wood and Ann. There is also listed on the IGI John James Wood chrs. 26 Sep 1841 Mylor (William John Wood and Ann) and a Mary Ann Wood chrs. 25 Dec 1843 to William Wood and Ann.
Mylor marriages shows:
May 9 1833, Mylor, William Eden of Sunderland, mariner, to Ann Tuffery
Sep 12 1837, Mylor, William John Wood, aged full, father William, to Ann Eden, aged full, widow, father Gooden Tuffery.
Also Dec 31 1838 Mylor Gooden Tuffery, 30, father Gooden, to Ann Lang, 30, father John.
Maybe he's listed as 'Wood' in 1851 and that's why he can't be found? They don't seem to be in the Mylor area in the 1851 or later censuses...

In 1841 William John Wood was not recorded in the household with wife Ann Eden, nee Tuffery. He was in the Coastguard and most likely out to sea as he is on later census aboard ship or back in the household with his wife and family.
William Henry Eden, his step son, is on the 1861 Census. His profession is recorded as a seaman in the Royal Navy (R. N.). I haven't found him in 1851... possibly out to sea.

Hi.... William Henry Tuffery Eden born 5th July 1833 is on of my 2xGGrandfathers. Was a gunner in he Royal Navy joined 2/6/1850. left the navy in 1872.
His children were born Portsmouth - Falmouth - Portsmouth & the last two in Southampton.
I have a copy of his Navy Pay Record from the National Archive. The 1871 census has him on board HMS Nymphe off of Zanzibar.
William Eden married Ann Tuffery 1833 was a mariner from Sunderland was lost with HMS Thais sunk en route from Halifax to Falmouth in 1834. The Thais was a Falmouth Packet.
I would like to see the earlier records.
