Title: Robert Black
Post by: Anne Mc on Monday 27 March 06 23:19 BST (UK)
Hi, Can anyone help me?    I'm looking for a Robert Black who was born in Co. Donegal, Ireland around 1920. He moved to Scotland in 1943. Can anyone help.

Hi Anne,

I noticed you're not having much luck with responses to this post. I don't know anything about Irish Records so can't help you there I'm afraid.

Do you know anything else about Robert Black? Was he married before he came to Scotland?

Scotland's People (www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk) have marriages up to 1930. If he got married after coming to Scotland you'll be able to view/download his marriage certificate.

A remote possibility - I know, but I can't think of anything else which might help.

Anne

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post, as you have noticed I am having no luck. I really dint no much more about him. He was an only son and he left here in 1943. We dont know if he married or if he is still alive. Thank you again.

Hi Anne,

I wish you the best of luck in your search but could I add a word of caution about putting information on the internet about living people.  We need to be careful that we don't compromise people's security.

All the best,
Pam

Hi Anne,

Have you any idea of where in Scotland ?- Iīm afraid there are over sixty Robert Blacks on the electoral roll in Glasgow alone! There are telephone nos. for 23 of them online. No one in Ireland who might know more, even just a hint? What was his occupation? Try another branch of his family?

Sorry canīt do better,

Thrall
