I would be extremely grateful if there is anyone willing to lookup the 1841 census for the ROBINS family, shown below in the 1851 census.
1851 Census
4 King St, Kensington
Cornelius 64 Head Gardener born Reading, Berkshire
Jane 55 Wife Tailoress Deal, Kent
Samuel 36 Son Painter Reading, Berkshire
William 30 Son Labourer Reading, Berkshire
Charles H 15 Son Errand Boy Reading, Berkshire
I am particularly interested in where Cornelius and Samuel were in 1841 census.
Samuel was shown as being married, so might well have been living in a different household in 1841.
Thank you for your interest and kind assistance...
..... Steven.

Hi Steven,
1841 London census.
I can't find your Robins family, I checked King St. Parts of Kensington are missing from the 1841 census.

Thank you very much indeed for trying, Cissellby.
I very much appreciate it.

Family legend has it that my grandmother, Caroline Elizabeth Robins, was descended from a Germam Jewish family, Ruben (or Rubens/Rubin/etc), and changed their name to Robin.
I have always wondered if this was indeed the case, and perhaps their not being in the 1841 census might be due to the fact that they were in Germany at that time, or in London under their former surname.
Thank you again, Cissellby.
You have given me much food for thought :)

Thank you so very much, Bryant.
Despite repeatedly scouring for them, I had indeed missed these two examples.
I cannot think how I missed the latter, as I have searched on Robins, Robin, etc, etc.
Cornelius, however, I missed because I had thought that Robin'SON' was not used until much later in the family history.
You have taught me an extremely valuable lesson - NOT to assume anything and to consider everything.
I shall digest the details you have so kindly unearthed for me and see what new avenues they might open!
Again, I sincerely thank you...
..... Steven.
P.S. - I cannot help but wonder what, if any, connections you might have to the above.
I wonder because Bryant is a branch of my family (connected via Wileman through to my mother).

It makes me feel good to to assist Steven..... ;)
Bryant is a very common name........mine came from Ireland and started off as O'Bryan......Timothy being my Gr Gr Grandfather and they resided in the Camberwell area from 1841 onwards ......... however I have never come across any connection to a Wileman
