I have found the possible marriage of James and Elizabeth
James Arthrell
Elizabeth Bilson
Oct-Dec quarter 1839
District of Atherstone
Vol 16
page 385
double checked it against IGI and date is 26 Dec 1839, Ansley

GOB SMACKED :o
Thank you so much.
It states that Elizabeth was married in 1871, can you see James anywhere ???
-
Hi
Take a look at the IGI there is a James Arthrell baptised 25 April 1810 in Reigate Surrey to a Henry and Abigail Arthrell. Could very well be your James.
In 1841 Henry and Abigail are in Warwickshire.
To verify this you could obtain the marriage cert of James and Elizabeth.
1841
Henry Arthrell, age 50, gardener, not born in county
Abigail age 50, not born in county
HO 107 1127
folio 2/6 page 6
Baxterley, Warwickshire
There is an Elizabeth Bilson, baptised 11 June 1816 in Ansley mother Mary Bilson.
I will have a plough through the 1871 for James, see if he was somewhere else of in fact had died by then.

LOL glad to help!!
Cant see James in 1871, I will have a look at deaths between 1861 and 1871, In 1881 Elizabeth is definitely down as widow.

I found a William Bilston living a few doors away from Charles in 1881, will have to see who he is and connect him ;D
-
Found these as I looked through deaths
Abigail Artherill, age 87
Nuneaton
Vol 6d page 244
Oct-Dec 1870
could this be James?
James Artherell
age 65
Lichfield
Vol 6b page 266
Oct - Dec 1875
Nicky
-
I will certainly keep it in mind Nicky. and you seem to have found Abilgail too ;D
-
Hi
I have had a good look through the 1871 but cannot find James, I tried all sorts of variations on name etc but nothing jumped out at me!!!!
I would say the death is his, right age, and also not a very common name at all.
If I do come across him in 1871 I will get back to you.

Thank you Nicky ;D
Your help has been more than appreciated.

Has anybody who is chasing the ARTHRELL name in the midlands found a conection with Surrey and a branch moving to Kent as I have an Arthrell born around 1780 and married in teh Dartford area in 1802. There are no other records for ARTHRElls in Kent prior to him
I am researching this name and have alomost completed the research for the Kent Branch.
I am 99.9% sure that the two branches are conected but I am having trouble conecting the two
Any hrlp would be most welcome
Thanks
Ian
