The ones from GRO take 2 weeks at least to come, registrars turn them round immediately.

You will still need to find the GRO ref number whichever source you use for ordering the certificate

The GRO Ref is of little use to most Registrars who have their own system of indexing using Surnames,  dates and Christian names which leads them directly to the Register the entry is in. THerse are by books of indexes [allowed to be searched by agreement] and on their comuputers
Regsitrars do not have a link from the GRO reference to their Registers .

Thanks for all your replies to my query.

I did get a copy of B/cert, but unfortunately it did not give where born only sub district and county. the other age info I had was on copy of death cert. where her married name is Mcfallon/Fallon, listing on 1901 census is by that name and also 5 children, she then had 3 more children, but can find no evidence of marriage.

Is this her in 1881 at Broadmore Gate in Fownhope ?

Joseph Burton aged 53 Ag lab born Tarrington
Eliza wife aged 47 born Woolhope
Winifred dau aged 12 born Woolhope
Eliza dau aged 8 born Fownhope

Also possible marriage
Winifred Burton aged 26 married Charles Herbert Cecil aged 23, fathers Joseph Burton and Thomas Cecil, 13/10/1894 at St James Hereford

 Could possibly be. I have that data, but am not sure about it, I wanted to find marriage details to confirm parents details.

Have church Baptism Records for some children, according to them she was in West Kirby 1892/93and94.

Looking at the marriage of W.B and Charles Herbert there doesn't seem to be any issue from that marriage ???

Did she marry twice, does it say spinster or widow on teh mariage certificate ?
