Hello from Australia!
Timothy Ryan (21 yrs) and his wife, Alice, nee Fogarty (21 yrs) emigrated to Australia in 1840 with his brother Patrick and sister Bridget. I am trying to find information about the family who remained in Silvermines. His parents names were Francis and Judy, nee Kennedy.
I would appreciate any assistance in helping identify any siblings of Timothy's who remained in Ireland. Any other information would be a welcome bonus.
Thanks
Elsie Ellen

I am from this same Australian branch. Have you had any success with the Irish branch?

Hi Dawn.
Welcome to Rootschat! :)
The Irish branch still eludes me Dawn. Do you happen to have any snippets of information about them?
My focus has been more on the Australian descendants of Timothy and Alice of late. My husband and I recently travelled to Gulgong and found the graves of Timothy and Alice. It was quite a moving experience.
Wonderful to have contact with another Ryan family member.

Elsie, thanks for replying. I have only just found this site today! How can we exchange our personal email addresses?

I'll send you a personal message through this site Dawn.

Interesting that they went to Gulgong. Many Silvermines migrants (e.g. Gleeson, O'Brien) went to Mudgee. The village of Cooyal was called 'Little Tipperary''.
