Looking for any details of George Rush. Given as the father of Mary Rush on the marriage certificate of Mary to James Bedinfield 27th April 1836 at Carleton Rode, Norfolk. Mary Rush gives her place of birth as Carleton Rode, and her age at marriage as 23. Witness on m/c James Rush, maybe Mary's brother ? I don't know the name of George Rush's wife.

Hi .I looked at the 41 census for Carlton Rode,lots of Rush names but no George Rush or James Bedinfield & Mary.I wonder if you have found them on any census?

Thanks for looking in the 1841 Carleton Rode census Ray.
for George Rush. James Bedingfield & Mary nee Rush were living in Withersdale in the census of 1841. 1851 in Ilketshall St Lawrence, Suffolk. 1861 in Mettingham, Suffolk, where they are both buried in 1886. James & Mary are my Great Grand parents, their son George born 1855 is my grandfather, my father born 1904 Bungay, Suffolk.
The m/c of James & Mary, has James' surname as Bedinfield, should be Bedingfield. I don't think George Rush was born in Carleton Rode, as I am told he is not in their baptism registers. I will have to get a look at the baptism register for Carleton Rode, might give me Mary's mother's name, & if i'm lucky her mother's maiden name. Thanks for your reply, Cheers George

George;
I have recently researched in Carleton Rode, and found that although some of my relatives are born Carleton Rode they were baptised in one of the next door villages, mine being Bunwell.
I have made many visits to Bunwell its just up the road from me, Only recently told by the church warden that the registers are placed in the records office, which before able to view the originals via the warden.
On some of my visits to Carleton Rode, I have noticed the name RUSH on headstones, and I beleive on the War memorial.
I'm not relsearching Rush, . but just thought i mention.
researching Bush Carleton Rode.

Blue Spirit,
just seen your post about Bunwell records being in Registry Office. Have you followed this up at all? When I visited NRO last year I was told that the NRO had Bunwell PRs, but that they were not for public view ??? without written authorisation from the incumbent. I also know that people had been able to see the originals by arrangement at Bunwell. Do you know if things have changed? Is there a new policy to stop allowing access to the originals, or have they now been deposited in the NRO? Is access at the NRO still restricted?

Hi Keith, PM on its way with some contact details....stand by.
I cannot understand why there would be any restrictions, although visiting the Norwich archives web site there are some there, http://www.archives.norfolk.gov.uk/pratlist/nropratb.htm
However i was told on my last visit to the church, that the the more recent records had to be deposited, perhaps they have not filtered through these as yet.....
more in the PM...
