Edingburgh - it reminds me a bit of Miss Jean Brodie, but that was Spanish Civil War - mid /late 1930s and I think it's earlier than that.

Hmm tricky one.  I think it's a couple of years after WW1 so I'd say 1920.  Then again I could see how it could be a couple of decades earlier.

OK everyone, I think you've earned your reward...

This photo is of my great-great-uncles Fred (L) and Arthur (R), and was taken in 1914.  Not sure why they were in Edinburgh, as Fred was at sea alot and lived in liverpool, and Arthur was living down south...he was in the East Surrey regiment and was killed in action in January 1916.  RIP, Arthur  :'(

Anyway, well done to all of you, you were all pretty close actually.  Must be all the practice you're getting!

I'm posting another one shortly, so I hope you're not tired of these yet!

???  Hi Collette, yes you got me, incompetent, illitriate, can't see further than what's on the page.  Promise I'll buck-up in future.  My excuse?  None - I was OK when it was DOS - wordperfect, cardbox, supercalc etc etc.  15 years later I re-enter the World I knew so well and they've changed it.  Wouldn't you know it?
