That isn't H.G. Wells on the left, is it?
Charles
-
Edingburgh - it reminds me a bit of Miss Jean Brodie, but that was Spanish Civil War - mid /late 1930s and I think it's earlier than that.
Gadget
-
mmmmm???? let me think?
Could they be brothers? I'll go for C1914??
-
1915 to 1920 I say 1918.
-
Well ......... I'll say Irish 1901

I think earlier still with those stiff collars 1890 (but I have been miles away on each of these)
Sharon

I keep thinking the one sitting down will say "gottle of gear."
Charles
-
No its not H.G.Wells. I would say pic was taken just before first world war 1913/14 going by pocket watch and starched shirts
Jim
-
Well, I'm going for 1904-08, because of the bits that I mentioned ^^^ up there somewhere :D
Gadget
-
thinking around 1930
sandie

Hmm tricky one. I think it's a couple of years after WW1 so I'd say 1920. Then again I could see how it could be a couple of decades earlier.

A toughy. The boots are buttoned...not laced. My guess 1910.

OK everyone, I think you've earned your reward...
This photo is of my great-great-uncles Fred (L) and Arthur (R), and was taken in 1914. Not sure why they were in Edinburgh, as Fred was at sea alot and lived in liverpool, and Arthur was living down south...he was in the East Surrey regiment and was killed in action in January 1916. RIP, Arthur :'(
Anyway, well done to all of you, you were all pretty close actually. Must be all the practice you're getting!
I'm posting another one shortly, so I hope you're not tired of these yet!
:)
