I am researching the family names of Cairns, Beveridge, and Mitchel from the Fife area, anyone researching the same names?
-
Hello tisme, I have Beveridges and Mitchels on my family tree, all from Fife. What area in fie do yours come from? GEN10

hi Gen10, My Beveridges come from the Carnock, Beath area. The Cairns' come from Dunfermline. Most of the Mitchels came from Clackmannan. All coal miners.
The earliest I have gone back with the Beveridges is Thomas Beveridge (b.about 1823) and his wife Agnas Adamson their children Margaret, Euphemia, James, John, Thomas and Janet.

Hya tisme, were Thomas's parents Robert Beveridge and Agnes Wilson? If not do you know who they were? Do you have a death cert for Thomas as that would give his parent's names?

Hello Tisme, have you tried looking on Scotlands People for a death cert for Thomas, this would give you a definate lead as to who his parents were.

I have just posted the following request on ROBERTSON / BEVERIDGE married in Dunfermline about 1877 ???.
About 1877 a George ROBERTSON married Nance (a.k.a. Agnes) BEVERIDGE in Dunfermline
They came to Australia in about 1883 and settled in New South Wales.
George passed away in Sydney on the 25 August 1925 at the age of 67 years.
Their first two children that I know of were William and George.
They may have been born in Scotland but I'm not certain.
Would these be of any connection to your research.
Cheers

Hi, I know these posts were a long time ago but I've not long found this site. I too am related to the aforementioned Thomas Beveridge and Agnes Adamson, through my father's family. They're my great, great, great grandparents. I'm still working my way back from here though!

I have moved this post about CAIRNS to a new topic (CAIRNS only) as these posts seems to be mainly about BEVERIDGE :)
