Hi Pam,
You can't believe how thankful and appreciated I am concerining your posting! The first one; you are correct on! It is the Duvall family that I have been searching for............. many years now, as it has been webbed with false information in throughout marriage and birth certificates that I have ordered from London.
It is remarkable! Thank you ever so much! If there was a way to repay you for your effort, I wish I could, but not sure which area you might be researching for yourself. As I have some transcriptions of Peel County, Ontario, that I help others with, so if your in that neighbourhood just ask me and I'll see what I can do.
Thank you Pam for your help.........

Hello you are very welcome
Sorry about the 1881 census wrong age.
I live in Australia and come from Birmingham UK I know the feeling about looking for relations ie: my grandparents the Jones and Pearsalls and a Aunt nee Oakley. I only wish I had started earlier and asked my parents while theywere alive.

Resurrecting this old thread because this George Dewal (Duval) looks like my wifes g grandfather except that the info on the census doesn't quite tie up with what I have.
According to the family's records:
They had a total of 11 children:
Charles Edward 1872-1966
Clarissa 1875-1889
William Henry 1877-1961
William George 1878-1879
Agnes Mary H 1879-1937
Frederick C 1881-1956
Alfred Merle 1882-1939
Ernest James 1884-1921
Victor 1888- 198?
Victoria 1888-1968
Clara Edith 1892-1978
George's parents were William Duvall (1822-1893) and Ann Thorpe (1825-1900)
Their other children were:
Harriet (1851 - ?)
Elizabeth (1853 - ?)
Frederick (1857 - ?)
Ellen (1861 - ?)
Leonard Gervaise (1865 - ?)
William (1867 - ?)
William's parents were William Duvall (?1800 - ?) and Harriett Ozgood (?1800 - ?)
Their other children were:
James (1823 - ?)
Harriett (1825 - ?)
Hannah (1827 - ?
Mary (1829 - ?)
Sophy (1830 - ?)
Thomas (1833 - )
Elizabeth (1835 - ?)
Anne (1837 - ?)
Eliza (1837 - ?)
Ellen (1840 - ?)
That's as much as I have from family records. I need to spend some time looking through the censuses to see if I can make any sense out of it all :)

Hello
Your William Henry age 4 could be Harry nickname age 4 on the 1881 census
Also
Harriet age 2 you have Agnes Mary H could be Agnes Mary Harriet. My grandmother was Alice Louisa and was known as Louie

Yes, quite possibly, however the years seem a bit off too....
I've still a load of work to do on the Duvalls - there's a lot of them and a lot of variation in the spelling of the surname :)

Hello Andy, :)
Thanks for resurrecting this old site as I haven't been to this site for quite sometime now.................Ellen Duvall's parents were William Duvall and Ann Thorpe! Ellen Duvall was born in 1861 Tonbridge and died in 1904 in Portsmouth. She is my great grand mother in-law. My mother in-law has long since gone, she has always wanted to know about her family, but I never found the answers for her while she was alive. What a remarkable website of people on this site, it is unbelievable. :) Thank you Down Under, your absolutely fabulous and it looks like you do have the same family! It definately looks like a match to me from the 1881 census, despite the differences from the years being out, as it is quite common in census records to find such differences. From what I see Andy, your George Duvall possibly married Agnes Budd, then? Just guessing! You have William passed away in 1893, I have information from the index that he passed away in 1894 in Kent.
Andy I sent you my personal email address to your mail box, contact me............. looks like we have some catching up to do. :)
Down Under.............your an angel. :)

Yes, that's right. George married Agnes Sawyer Budd. I have a photo which we are pretty sure is of George & Agnes.
