Title: Brady Drumshambo
Post by: arrowsdeb on Friday 03 March 06 15:05 GMT (UK)
Hi There

One of my ancestors James Brady settled in Hull, Yorkshire from 1840's.
According to a UK census he was born in Drumshambo.
His marriage certificate in Hull tells me he was born approx 1820 and was a Hawker. Unfortunately, no father's name on his marriage certificate.

If anyone here happens to be researching Brady surname from this area / date, would love to hear from you in case any connections to be found

Many thanks!
Debbie

I don't know if there is any connection, but my great great grandmother was called mary brady and she married thomas maguire in 1841 in ballinamore co. leitrim.   Hope this is of use to you

Hi there
Thanks very much for your reply.
There could well be a connection, but unfortunately, prior to my James Brady coming to yorkshire in early 1840's,, I don't know that much about him.
Like I mentioned in my posting I only know he's a Hawker from Drumshambo because it was mentioned on an English census and sadly on  his marriage certificate the father's name and occupation is blank. Possibly your great-great-grandmother could be his sister or cousin, they appear to be similar ages. Do you know where your g-g-grandmother was born or any other details like her parents names, please?

Many thanks and best regards
Debbie
