Title: rooney family

Can anyone help me please I seem to have come up against a brick wall, my Grandfather was born in Dublin in 1911 and his family moved to Liverpool soon after (I think) how can I trace them in Dublin?

Hi Billiejo,
                 Peter Rooney ( my Grandfather ) b 7/11/1911 in Dublin, his Father was James Rooney his Mother was Martha Rooney formerly James they moved to Liverpool when Peter was young (don't know the year ) Peter married Florence Rooney in 1936 and they had 4 children.

Did the Rooney family live in Dublin City or Co. Dublin and what denomination were they?

hi jayne,found this family on the 1911 census dublin,
did your grandad peter have an older brother that you know of,
tried the search using martha rooney and the only other person
with the name was elderly.as peter was born after the census
I did'nt look for him.hope this helps.

Hi Anne,
Yes i think he had an older brother, i'm fairly sure he came from a large family with sisters and brothers. And Christopher they were Catholics and from Dublin City.
