Title: Warrick name
Post by: aussiegirl10 on Monday 27 February 06 14:52 GMT (UK)
I am looking for anything on
Thomas Warrick aged 30
John Warrick aged 20
Henry Warrick aged 25 from the 1841 census of Boveridge.

Thomas was born in Portsmouth or Portsea hampshire 1811
Henry Warrick married Elizabeth Applin in 1847 at Cranborne Dorset
and on his marriage cert his father was listed as deceased.
I came accross a Maria Warrick with a son Thomas, but am uncertain as to whether this is the right family.

Hoping that I can find the name of the parents.
Regards Tracey

Thank you so much,
I have been working on this, for about 12 months.

As every member that I have worked on seems to originate from Cranborne Dorset. I was concentrating on this,

It wasn,t untill the 1841 census of Boveridge was posted on the net that I was able to expand my search.

I am not sure where this came from 1851 or 61 census, but scribbled on a peice of paper from a year ago I found
John Warrick 1816 Visitor
Sarah Warrick   1789  Widow
Susanna  1814

Can you clarify this for me.
Kind regards
Tracey

It looks as though these are individual entries on the 1851 census - at first I thought they would all be in the same household, but John & Sarah are not.

Would you like me to post the details?

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

You seem to be collecting WARWICKs!  :)

I am not quite sure whether you are asking for these look-ups or not?

Let me know.

It is easier to follow people through the censuses as you biuld up a picture of the person, which makes it easier to tell when you have found the right person.  Whoever transcribed them before has not recorded occupations which can be quite helpful too.

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

HI,
Sorry I was actually asking for clarification on what I had found.
As I am still a bit new at this family tree stuff.

My main area of interest was originally Warwick/Warrick and now that you have been able tio help me I am able to link some of  the names  that I had down in my questionable page of research.

Is there anything else that you could tell me about Sarah Sears. and her family.
Regards Tracey

Hi Tracey

I had a look at the IGI  www.familysearch.org

I found these, based on the location and the date of birth we were working with for Sarah SEERS

Bap 07 Dec 1788

St Mary's Portsea Hampshire

Parents:Thomas SEERS & Priscilla

Possible siblings

THOMAS SEERS -Christening: 07 JAN 1801 Saint Marys, Portsea, Hampshire, England

ELIZABETH SEERS - Christening: 17 APR 1803 Saint Marys, Portsea, Hampshire, England

SARAH SEERS - Christening: 07 DEC 1788 Saint Marys, Portsea, Hampshire, England

ANN SEERS - Christening: 10 JAN 1790 Saint Marys, Portsea, Hampshire, England

PRISCILLA SEARS - Christening: 16 SEP 1787 Saint Marys, Portsea, Hampshire, England

Ideally, you would want to see the original records to check whether these people are really yours, but it seems good fit.  There were no other Sarahs in this timeframe & location.

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Thank you again so much,

I shall have a look at the British isles Vital records at the State Library
when I next visit,
Now that I have a new avenue to research,
However my family tree is almost complete thanks to everyone who answered my queries on Rootschat.
Just one more question:  I far back can you trace a family  tree in UK?

Regards Tracey

How far?

Well, all of us go all the way back or we wouldn't be here!  ;D

As to how you can support this with documentation, it depends.

My own lines are stuck at about 1800 in some cases, because of lack of evidence and relatively common names.  Others I have had access to primary records and can get further.

You will see folk who have documented trees that stretch back centuries, but some seem a bit weak on evidence - "my ancestor had that name & lived in that county, therefore..."

It depends how certain you want to be and on a lot of luck and no illegitimacies unless bastardy orders were issued!
