Please can anyone help me locate a painting of JAMES HANSON by Robert Saloman in 1795 or a colour copy from a book etc.

There is quite a bit online about the artist - lots of pictures mostly of ships. He apparently changed his name to Salmon so Google "Robert Salmon" artist and you may find some links to what you want.

I would make an inquiry to The National Portrait Gallery. They keep records on artists and last known whereabouts of portrait paintings.
