I live in Australia and have some details of the marriage of my g.g.g.grandfather in 1810 in Darley, Derby. What steps to I take to get full details of the registration?
Any help appreciated. :)

For a start you could send me the details and I will have a look next time I go to the Archives ;D

Thank you for your offer.
John PEERS (? son of William and Ellen)l
married
Mary HUNTER on 28th May, 1810 Darley, Derby.ENG
I have no idea of which church.
I really appreciate your help :)

I'm not sure where you will go from here :'(
The transcription cd by Val Neale (very good) has no details other than Bride, Groom and that he is from Liverpool and she from Darley. There is no baptism for the bride as far as I can see so she may have been living there but originally from somewhere else.
good if Ormskirk can double check it though. The church is St Helen's.

Thank you Gardener - I think that Mary was born in Liverpool - I was hoping the confirm John's parents names from info in the parish register.

Here we go,
John Peers of Lancashire M Mary Hunter of Darley Dale 28/5/1810
Witnesses
John Greaves
Elizabeth Shepley
Too early to give parents names, Just confirms what you have really.

Thank you so much :)
Cheers for now.

Hi
As a follow up to this thread - unfortunately these marriage details have been placed on a PEERS family web site [lots of copy and paste] The designer and author of the web site is not a member of our family and has not responded to my emails or to pm's via rootschat.

I have since found out that this PEERS/HUNTER marriage is not the marriage of my ggg grandfather - great disappointment to me. However the incorrect information remains on the website and I am unable to do anything about it.
