I am looking for information about the Greig family based in Kilmany, Fife and its environs. I am aware of:
William Greig, born 23/8/1815
Christian Greig (derivative of Christina), born 29/7/1817
David Greig, born 19/4/1820
Thrift Greig, born 9/6/1821
James Greig, born 2/6/1823
John Greig, born 25/10/1825
Ann Greig, born 17/2/1828
Margaret Greig, born 17/7/1834
Peter Greig, born 13/6/1839
They were all born in Kilmany, Fife to James Greig (of unknown birthdate or death date) and Christian Philp, born 16/2/1791 (in Logie), who were married 22/10/1814.
If anyone knows any urther details, not already stated above about these or other Greigs from this area, I would be most intersted to know.

Hi!
Here is the family in the 1841 census in the parish of Kilmany:
James Greig 52 Ag Labourer
Christian Greig 48
Thrift Greig 20
Ann Greig 12
Robert Greig 10
Margaret 6
Peter Greig 2
They are all shown as being born in Fife.
I think that James & Christian's son, John, was living at Rathillet Farm in the parish of Kilmany, as there is a John Greig, an agricultural labourer, aged 17 and born in Fife, living there.
The IGI shows that Robert Greig was born on 4th Sept 1830 and christened on 27th Sept 1830 at Kilmany.
There is also this family, all shown as being born in Fife, living at Lochmalony in the parish of Kilmany:
William Greig 55 Ag Labourer
Helen Greig 55
Elizabeth Greig 25
Is it possible that William and James are brothers?
Hope this helps!

Ju,
Many thanks for this very useful information. I have Found a William Greig born in Kilmany married to an Helen Imry, with his parents William Greig and Ann Heane, by searching the IGI. Although he may be a brother to James Greig, I cannot find any reference to a James Greig born about 1789 in Kilmany, hence I cannot link the two together as family.
