Hi Kristy
Could this be your family living in Back Rothwell Street Gt Bolton?
Joseph born 1814 born Lydsley[I think this may be Tyldsley]
carder in mill
Elizabeth born 1815 Lydsley carders wife
Robert born 1840 born Lydsley scholar at home
John born 1842 born Bolton scholar
James born Bolton scholar
Edward born Bolton scholar
Dorothy Greenhalgh born 1834 Bolton frame tender cotton mill
Richard Greenhalgh born 1831 Bolton piercer cotton
Charles Greenhalgh born 1809 Bolton excavator
Jamrs Young born 1826 Bolton blacksmith.
It wouldn't surprise me if the Tyldsley birth shouldn't have been shown as Bolton because on later census they are and the family above these entries were also Lyldsley and the Tomas family were just dittoed. If you need any more help I will be going to Lancashire records office on Tuesday just list the things you want looking up

Hi Dotty
Thank you for taking the time to respond I really do appreciate it. That is my family alright, Thank you very much. If it is not to much trouble I would appreciate anything you can find out for me but in particular I would really apreciate if you could check for Joseph's birth his Parents names and anything about them. Also Elizabeth Greenhalgh's birth and her parents. And any marriages, births and Deaths of Edward, John and James. I would appreciate this so much it is a little hard trying to find information when you live in
Australia. If I can help in anyway with Australian look ups please let me know.
Thanks you

Hi Dotty
Thanks for replying. I dont think ever of these are my family as Elizabeth was the Greenhalgh although she married Joseph in 1839 so maybe it is? I dont suppose there is any way to link them. Someone told me there a lot of Thomas' on the St Peters Parish records for Bolton, If you dont mind and are not to busy, would you be able to check up Joseph's parents and marriage maybe that will shed some light on the Greenhalgh situation. I really do appreciate your help but if you are to busy I will understand.
Thanks

on the IGI there is a Baptism for BETTY GREENHALGH 1/4/1820 at Leigh which would probably been the church she would have been christened at from Tyldsley parents Thomas and Betty--just a thought

Hi Dotty
Thanks for replying. It is possible but that would mean the Census 1851 and 1861 Census ages are incorrect is this possible. According to the census she was born about 1814/1815.
Thanks

Although she was christened that day she could have been born years sooner.I have in our line five children christened on the same day and I know for a fact one of them must have been eleven. It is worth keeping the family in mind though.

I am really struggling with this family, can't find any birth records at the church where I thought they would have been baptised. You will have to leave it with me and perhaps I may be able to get to Bolton Records office in the next few weeks or so ,they have more accessable records available.

Hi Dotty
Thanks for replying I really appreciate it. That is my Joe and Elizabeth on the 1841 Census. I would really appreciate it if you could keep cheking if you dont I cant search for them from Australia so I am very grateful that you would look for them for me. If you ever need anything looked up in Australia it would be my pleasure to do that for you. I have some early information that said Joe was Christened at Bolton Le Moors I dont know if that helps. I really appreciate all of your help.
Thanks
Kristy
