Hi GeoffP, thanks very much, I am quite a novice at this, I am trying to find the husband of Jane Bell, who as far as I know is still alive as they had their last child in 1879, the head of h.hold i s Henry Murrow, his widow was Jane's sister Mary nee Hepworth.
Hope this gets to you!

Hi,
Could you tell me what you have got. Do you know the name of the child born in 1879,as that would be a help in searching. If we could find his birth record, you could always order the birth cert and that would give fathers name.
Do you have this Murrow family on a census and if so which. I had another look at the 1871 image and it could well be Yarrow instead of Yanow but it does not look like Murrow. I looked for Murrow on 1881 but no names with this spelling came up.
The more info you can give the more likely we can find something.

I found the following on the 1861 Census
RG9/3877 Folio55 p22
114 Radcliff ? Hauxley
Burn Row
Joseph Bell Head M 23 Coal miner b Black Close
Jane Bell Wife M 25 b Murton
Do you think this is the same Jane

I made an error on the 1871 Census. Jane Bell is 27 and not 37 as I indicated. This probably rules out my 1861 finding.

I subsequently found Jane Bell on the 1881 Census which I guess is what you already have. She is still living in the household of Henry MURROW and still no sign of a husband.
Ada Bell is 2 years old. Strange no husband!!
There is a birth of Ada Jane Bell March 1879
Tynemouth 10b18(6)
I think that you will need to order the birth cert. in order to see who is the father. If you explain that the Ref is 18 or 16 I am sure that they will help you.
You could also choose one of the other children and see if there is a good match with place and date.

GeoffP, thanks for info. yes I do have 1881 census for the family. George (10 I believe) was my maternal grandfather, and altho' I have his christening with Emma at Cullercoats in 1873. his birth doesn't appear to have been registered. I know it is my family as I have an elderly Aunt still alive in Canada who has told me the name of various aunts & uncles incl. Fred and Ada. I do know from family Jane's husband Edward was a drinker and hearsay has it that was why he didn't live at home! Thanks again for help. gardening friend

Hi GeoffP, I hace copy of 1881 census for the fmily, living with Henry Murrow, Whitley, Northumberland, Wolf Hall, no wife but sister in law Jane, got his marriage cert. to check his wifes maiden name for Jane's maiden name, that's as far as I got. Going away for a week this weekend so will not be doing anything for another while either, Thanks for your efforts. Gardening Friend (Quite easy to find his marriage as very few Murrows in the records!
