              My Great grandfather was Walter Roper he married Sarah  Ann Wilson in 1896

    they lived in Nelson street Belfast any imfo on the name Roper would be great

The 1897 directory shows ...

Roper, H. W., 75, Wilmont Terrace, Lisburn Road.

The Ulster Covenant of 1912 was signed by ...

Cassie Roper, Ellen Roper and Sarah Ann Roper ... all of 43, Weir Street,  Belfast.

Hi Jemmifer.
A marriage for a Walter Roper and Sarah Ann Wilson, on the 20 March 1893, in Trinity Church of Ireland, Belfast.
There are a few other Roper marriages in Trinity around that period, have you any first names ?.

If memory serves me right, Trinity C.o.I., was at the junction of Antrim Rd., / Clifton St., / Crumlin Rd.
Nelson St., would be about quarter to half a mile away.

Alfred Roper to Elizabeth Lewis, married 20 Nov 1899, Trinity C.o.I., Belfast.

William Smith to Catherine Roper, married 26 Nov 1902, Trinity C.o.I.

Robert John Roper to Catherine Cairns, married 31 Jan 1906, St Anne's C.o.I., Belfast.

Alfred Stephen Roper to Jeannie Molyneux, married 23 Jan 1904, Trinity C.o.I.

Thomas Clark Todd to Amelia Roper, married 18 Oct 1905, Trinity

George Baker to Martha Jane Roper, married 20 Sept 1914, Trinity C.o.I.

Thomas Roper to Margaret Morton, married 13 Jan 1917, Trinity C.o.I.

Try the PRONI, their "Ulster Covenant" website has a number of Ropers from the area who signed.
