Post by: golnia on Sunday 19 February 06 16:29 GMT (UK)
Hi,
this is my last resort ......my gggrandfather was a detective in glasgow from 1863 to 1888 we have his B.D.M. and all census etc........but.......we can not find his police record ?? ,we thought this would be relatively easy as we live close to the mitchell library and are fully aware of all the records contained therein ....but no joy!! Has anyone else gotany ideas as to where to look now?we have even tried the railway police just in case but no luck...any ideas folks?

        many thanks
