Hello there,
I am trying to find out about a new branch I have found. I have a Hugh Abel who was born around 1838 in Neston, Cheshire, according to the 1881 census, when he was living in Oldham. He had a wife, Catherine, who, it is said, came from Kilkenny. Any light anyone could throw on the subject would be most gratefully received,
Thanks

:De Thank you for your prompt replies, which were very helpful. Ellen, Huw's wife. has changed her place of birth to Ireland by 1881 however.
