Hi,
Am trying to find my aunt's husband's birth cert and go further back if possible
My cousin has recently made contact with one of his sisters whom he hasn't had any contact with for around twenty or so years. The family split when my cousin was a babe in arms, the girls remained with their father and my cousin with his mum [my aunt]
My cousin's surname is Webberley
it transpires that his Grandfather changed his name from WIBBERLEY to WEBBERLEY at some stage by deed poll
Is there anyway of tracing his change that anyone knows of????
I changed my name after my divorce back to my maiden name by deed poll
I have a copy of this and so too does the solicitor but is the information logged anywhwere???
by the way i still haven't managed to find my Aunt's Husbands birth cert or his fathers so am really stumped
Looking for
STANLEY ARTHUR WEBBERLEY/WIBBERLEY born around 1903
His father
GEORGE ARTHUR WIBBERLEY/WEBBERLEY I assume born around 1880
Have no idea where any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Softcoats,
Not much help but the only George Arthur Wibberley I can see is the one living in Coton in the Elms in 1901 (currently free to search at www.ancestry.co.uk), born ca. 1874 Rosliston Derbyshire. 1881 has him down as George A, 1891 as George Arthur.

Try
http://www.gazettes-online.co.uk/
Many name changes by deed poll were published in the appropraite gazette

If you are looking for his birth, why bother with his change of name? simply search the indexes for his birth name.
