hello
 i am trying to locate a baptism record for Arthur wheeldon born 11 may 1836 derby,sorry i do not know the parish.his parents were Joseph wheeldon and Anne gill Thompson, married 8 July 1830 Radbourne,derby.Arthur left england for the united states 1854.there were children born before and after Arthur  at all saints parish derby.

i have found a birth record for him on the IGI 5 Nov 1836 (perhaps this is his baptism/christening?)- is this the same Arthur? His parents are the same -  There is also a pedigree resource file which gives the name of the submitter as Ross Wheeldon of Scarborough - perhaps you should try to contact him?

HI Eric, I don't know if you have contacted Ross yet but he does have his own web-site - my PC files are in a bit of a mess at the mo but when I find it, I will PM you with it - you should find it by googling Wheeldon forums.  Also, I think Steven Wheeldon has info of Radbourne Wheeldons - you will find his E_mail address on the Wheeldon message board on Genforum.

i have e mailed Ross twice, about the 5 November 1836 date, he listed in his pedigree resource file.

i did get one reply, saying he would check into it but i have not heard anything. i may try Steven wheeldon.

I don't have a babtism record of Arthur Wheeldon, but my great grandmother Marion was his sister. Great great grandad Joseph Wheeldon was a school teacher at one time and a farmer too. His school house is in Radbourne still there as a private dwelling. I am told by my father that Joseph was the "returning officer" if that's the correct title for someone collecting census details either in 1841 or 1851.

My Great Great grandad was also Joseph Wheeldon.  I descend from his son Lewis.  We visited Radbourne last Saturday, it's a lovely place.

I am descended from the Wheeldons out of Derbyshire.
Possibly Muggington, Derbyshire.
Moved to Macclesfield then Stockport
