From sanders.
This site  is  the  most superior records research site I  have come across. It holds Scots census records from 1861- 1901. 1841- 1851 in the process of being added. Holds statutory registers. Births 1855- 1905.Marriages. 1855- 1930. Deaths.1855- 1955. Old parish registers. Birth & Baptisms 1553-1854. Banns & Marriages 1553- 1854. Within the space of fortnight I have sorted my maternal side of family back ( in detail ) to Culloden field. Now for the down side. It cost 6 GBp min. to buy 30 credits. For 1 credit you the name of person with min detail, for a further 5 credits you get all the information on that person or  persons. Well well  worth it. Tips to remember. Before 1845 Scots parishes were ecclesiastical only. After 1845 parishes were divided into civil and ecclesiastical, this was phased in so  you may find confusion around 1845- 1850.  Good hunting
