Title: Galli and Hawkesworth/Cataneo, Leeds
Post by: ligurian on Wednesday 15 February 06 03:45 GMT (UK)
Please does anyone know where I can find pictures or information on 2 businesses which operated in the centre of Leeds in the 1860s-1880s. The first was Galli and Hawkesworth, jewellers on the corner of Briggate and Kirkgate, Leeds.  The second was Cataneo, which also operated on Briggate, Leeds?

Regards,

Ian

Hi Ian ......

There are two very good sites , that have photographs of Leeds.....I have found them invaluable.......

www.imagesofleeds.co.uk
www.leodis.net

Also , the staff at Leeds Reference Library are very helpful .
(Family History Section ) If you know what you are looking for , they sometimes do a search , free , if it takes less than 30 mins.

I haven't got the phone number , or a email address to hand , but if you would like this info , please contact me....

Kind regards

JeannieR

You could try this site

http://www.commanet.org/searchLink.aspx?lang=English

You can go through it to find you way around or you can click Search The Archive then when page is loaded narrow down the search by clicking within the words on the right hand side, the mouse pointer wont change to a hand like in all other links but it does work try and find out.
