Title: 1841 Lookup - Salford - Barlow
Post by: kellisto on Sunday 12 February 06 18:03 GMT (UK)
Could SKS with access to the 1841 census possibly do a lookup?

I'm looking for:

James Barlow and his wife, Sarah (b.approx 1796). They should also have the following children:
Hannah (b. 1823)
Sarah (b. 1826)
James (b. 1828)
Susannah (b. 1828)

In the 1851 census, Sarah was recorded as a widow and they were living at Calder Street/Wharton Street No. 5, in the ecclesiastical parish of St Bartholomews.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

Karl

Hi Karl

This is a weird entry!

1841 census, Salford [Regent Road], Makin's Buildings
HO 107/586/10 folio 13 pg 18

Sarah Barlow; 40; Ind
Mary do; 22
Hannah do; 15
Sarah do; 15
James do; 14
Susannah do; 10
N K (??); 6 months
All shown born in county

Seems she is already a widow but don't really understand an entry for a 6 month old child with no name?

Regards
SandraC

Sandra

Thank you for this! Certainly seems strange...I think there is some more investigating to be done now...!
