Title: Looking for a church / cemetery in Bradford.
Post by: clr1979 on Sunday 12 February 06 12:58 GMT (UK)
Hi,

Im tring to find out where my GGGGG Grandfather is buried and I wondered if anyone has got a map of Bradford from the mid 1800's. What i'm looking for is a church or cemetery that was carrying out burials in 1852 near to Bolton Place, Bridge Street in Bradford.

Thanks

Carl.

Hi Carl,
not sure about Bolton Place but you will find a 1851 map of Bradford here
www.old-maps.co.uk  type in Bridge Street, Bradford for the search.
St, Peters - Bradford Cathedral seems likely to be the nearest, it depends on the location of Bolton Place. However nearest is not always the right location your ancestor might be interred in a family grave. If you can get hold of a copy of the Blackburn Registers it might help. He logged all the monumental inscriptions for lots of churches centered on Bradford. Try Bradford Family History Group at www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/bfhs/
