;) Hi Lizoz,
Don't know if this will help but in searching the Cronin's of Kerry I have found many references to Timothy Cronin. One website was http://www.rootsweb.com/~irlker/records.html
if you go through the different pages, you'll find some references. Hope it helps.

For births and marriages this early, you have to have a parish or townland and religion to get to the parish records.
Have you tried the Griffiths Valuation for TImothy?

Do you have the birth certificate and the marriage certificate? They should have been registered. The indexes are available at your local family history centre.

Do you mean THE Michael Collins. He had a sister Margaret who lived in Clonakilty. Their father's name was Micheal though not Denis.
Check out this site and see if anything sounds familiar.

I Don't have the birth or marriage or even death certs yet.
All i know are the names and i have had a search done at the local family history centre and they have nothing, but she told me not all records are sent anyway. Also i cannot afford the trip to Ireland just yet, but thank you for the tip.

I wished it was the Micheal Collins, it would make my life so much easier, i have some of his family tree so i know its not that.
I have fount out that my Margaret Collins had a brother Jack Collins and it was a cousin named Micheal Collins.
Hopefully someone out there is doing this line and we cross each others paths.
Thanks for the tip though

This is a small list of my names
CRONIN O'CONNOR STACK BYRNE from Kerry
Hiya Lizoz,
I've looked at Irish Ancestors Surname Search to get a rough idea what type of search may be involved ... at the time of the Valuations in Co. Kerry, which took place in 1852, the number of families in which you are interested were as follows ...
Byrne 25
Cronin 236
O'Connor 101
Stack 238
Would I be right in assuming that the families you are researching are members of the Catholic faith?
Have a look at www.familysearch.org as there are a few Timothy Cronin marriages around the time you say your ancestor Timothy was born. They may be connected if his dad was also called Timothy. They're from Glen Flesk Roman Catholic Parish which appears to be in the Civil Parish of Aghadoe.
There are ninety eight messages regarding families named Cronin from Kerry on Genforum. (http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?forum=cronin&url=%2Fcronin%2F&path=%2Fcronin%2F&terms=Kerry&boolean=AND) Some of them might be worth a look.

Hi guys,
What denomination are these ancestors you are seeking ... the ones in the late eighteenth century and nineteenth century up to 1864? They may take some time to find as Civil registration in Ireland was not introduced until 1864. Non Catholic marriages were registered from 1845 onwards but when the registration started some people didn't bother having kids registered for a few years after 1864.

I'm looking for more info on the following post by @ladybird. John Mara/Marah/Meara = Sarah Fuller
daughter: Francesca (Fanny) Helen Marah born c 1860.

I'm visiting dublin now in search of Francesca marah (1860) and went to the church of Ireland library.. found a baptism record of illegitimate twins (appears to be sarah and frances born to catherine fuller and a man with surname mcclure) in 1860. Grandson of Francesca (bill newlands, 94 yrs old) remembers that there many have been a twin and perhaps a slightly older half sister. I'm looking for birth records for francesca (bill wants to apply for irish citizenship through her). Any help greatly appreciated!
-
Civil registration of births did not begin until 1864.
Their baptism is entry 171 (August 1859) in this register from the RC parish of Templenoe

Hi Wilsmary, I'm ladybird :) Francesca Helen and Sarah Marah were indeed twins born 6th August 1859 to Catherine Meara and John McClure (illegitimate) I am their 2x g/grand daughter. They are both my maternal 2x g/grandmothers (their children married, yes 1st cousins)
One problem I have is I'm still trying to work out where the name Fuller came from.
Please PM me

OK, so after a lot of excitement and a lot of information sent, nothing has happened!!
And one has to wonder why a 94 year old suddenly decides to apply for Irish citizenship?
??? :-\ :-\
