Hi, this is my first time on the site, but I have to say it looks great!! Could you please look up a pre 1837 marriage for me? Its between a Samuel Langridge, who died in Brighton in 1877 at the age of 75 - can't find birth data as 1871 census info for sussex not on line - and an Eliza (no surname yet) who was down as living with her Son-in-law James Brooker and her Daughter Rosina Brooker nee Langridge on the 1881 census. She is given the birth place Framfield, Sussex. If its possible, could you also tell me who the parents were? I know it'll probably be the fathers' names only, but any info will help. Thanks for this. James. ;)

Hi James. This is the marriage and it's the sum total of the information. Ask Chris in 1066land for further information, Lewes is his stomping ground :)

Hello James,
I expect you realise that Langridge is a well known Sussex name.
I reply ,although a long shot, as I have just discovered a Langridge connection to my Ellis of Fletching.
Anthony Ellis' second wife was an Elizabeth Langridge and her mother was Lucy A widow in 1881 census.
I am just about to take this research further (Ihope) and I will keep your connection in mind.
Enjoy rootschat it is a great resource .
regards Grandad james.

G'Day
Ist post, if someone with the Marriage Index could help with the following it would be appreciated ;
NYE Thomas, b 1807, Southwick.
NYE James, b 1812, Southwick.
NYE Richard, b 1814, Southwick.

Hi andad,
These are the only one's that might fit (not sure where Southwick is) The index is until 1837.
I've just been in touch with another Rootschatter who was researching the ELMS name in Surrey and I extracted all mentions of the name from the Abinger parish records. If you contact me on the Private Message system I will send you a copy if you like,
Jane

Hi Baden, Ref message to you Oct 3 2004
I am jumping on `the bandwaggon`, Just saw your reference to a look up for someone looking for ELMS. I have just obtained a marriage cert for 1931, in attenmpt to find a missing Aunt, Katleen Mae (Rudd) Perry, who married a Henry William George Elms 1931 in Hounslow Msex.Eng.I have just found his birth place Godstone surrey. in 1906 On the certificate it mentions Edith Jane Elms, I believe her to have been born in Eastbourne Sussex 1891.
I have found the father of Henry W.G.Elms Frederick Joseph Elms & family originating in Wiltshire ...
Maybe this might be of help to the lady who was asking.
I have sent this to you as I am not familiar with this site yet
I dont suppose you have access to a death inde for Uk from 1931 onwards? Looking for Henry William George Elms death, as my Aunt went on to marry, maybe after the marriage in 1931!
