Is anyone researching, or has anyone information  on WILLIAM VANSTONE. born 1856/1857 Winkleigh (according to 1891/1901 censuses) ?   He came to London, married Mary Ann Allum of Fulham in 1883  and his children were all born in Fulham, London.

I cannot find his baptism in Winkleigh.  Would 'Winkleigh' cover other villages ?

Hi Rosecott, found him in the 1881 census living at 439 Latymer Road, Hammersmith, London.

William Vanstone 27 born Winkley, Devon a boarder and labourer

living with

Ellias Mayhew 40 born Coccenham, Suffolk a labourer
Hannah 33 born Bracknell, Berks a laundress
John 12 born Aldershot, Hamps

I think Winkleigh Parish takes in villages between Winkleigh and Hatherleigh, but I'm not sure. He could be registered under Hatherleigh or possibly Torrington.
