Hi
I am trying to sort the information on
census list 1901
3731 47 Cutts
there are 9 entries for No 47
the 1st 3 or 4 are of an age that would preclude
them as children ie: age
does anyone have a film record of the entries
to sort out who they all are
I wouls appreciate any help at all
Your Sincerely
Alan Cutts

Hi Alan,
I saw you had 15 hits and no responses and looked in to see if I could offer anything.
Have to say, however, that I am a bit bemused by your message as, maybe, is everyone else.
Do you think, perhaps, you could spell your message out a bit more clearly?
??? ???

Hi
I think I understand, having looked at the census, the age of Mr Cutts seems a bit young to have fathered the older children!!! Most likely a second marriage.
Wm Cutts, head, age 32, carter? born Nottingham
Margt Cutts, wife, age 39 born Buxton
Robt Wm Cutts, son, age 19, carter born LIverpool
Susannah Cutts, daughter, age 17, clerk tin plate works born Salford
Alfred Cutts, son, age 15 born Salford
Cornelius Cutts, son, age 14, errand boy drapers born Salford
Magdeline Cutts, daughter, age 9 born Salford
Ada Cutts, daughter, age 7 born Salford
Lilly Cutts, daughter, age 11 months, born Salford

Hi everybody,
Does this query refer to a previous look-up? ;)

g'day
my thoughts exactly,
it is thought william married a magdaline Boswell
but the wife is listed as margaret
and the child magdaline wasnt born till 1892
which is why I was looking for someone who might have the CD or fische film or whatever it is to have a look at the explanantions written on it.
this family is definately my line, being a uncle etc
but I have no knowledge of them whatsoever so I would dearly love to trace them up to now if that is possible,
Can anyone help me or is the challenge impossible to overcome??????
Regards Alan
ps I want to thank everyone in advance because even
the replies to date are most welcome.
I am on a pre paid disk so all my follow up mails will be
on a 24hr turnaround and my mail time is restricted
to using the PC between 5pm and 7pm AEST daily
but thats what happens when one gets old hey!!!!!!

g'day
actually found the marraige of william to magdaline boswell March 1892 8d 257 from previous look up
which now leaves me to find the original marraige between
William Cutts to a Margaret
approx1882 _+ a couple of years
father Robert Cutts b 1844 Notts
mother Sarah Cutts nee Waterfall b 1845 Bakewell
William was born 1869 Notts last Known Chapel St
Salford 1800's
Regards Alan
ps 1882 is the year the 1st child was born ie: Robert
b 1882 Salford

g'day
In reference to the previous look up,
It is the same except the 2nd family was showing the william Head with a different surname that of Lovell I think so I had actually discounted it, unless maybe it was a error of some sort???

Hi Alan,
Given that there is a marriage for Magdaline Boswell & William Cutts in 1892 and given that we have found William at home with his parents in 1891, I think William Boswell is indeed Magdaline's first husband.

Tati g'day
you must be up early over there hey!
(a) the prev look up listed the family as the head being
william Lovell
(a) the address was of course Spaw St which was in
close proximity to where my Cutts family were at 175 chapel st , but the surname throws me off the trail.
I hope the weather there is not too cold for you.
Regards Alan

Yes you're right, sorry - they were Lovell and not Boswell in 1891 :-[
I can see births for Lovell children in Salford registration district as follows:
Cornelius Lovell, Salford June quarter 1887.
Susannah Lovell, Salford September quarter 1883
Magdalen Lovell, December quarter 1891
Alfred Lovell June 1885
and then
Ada Cutts March 1893
Lillie Cutts June 1900
So indeed 1892 looks like a good match for William's marriage. Where did you find the marriage, by the way?
