I am trying to track down details of an EVISON family, believed to be living in Lincolnshire at the end of the 19th century. Unfortunately I have very little information to go on. John EVISON was one of at least three brothers, and was orphaned while young. He became a farmer in Lincolnshire, before moving to Sheffield. He married Florence, and they had three children; Fred, James and George, probably born around 1910.
This is a long shot because I have no further information, but if anyone out there can help I would appreciate it.
Many thanks Martin

Thanks Bee.
I have absolutely nothing on this family beyond that shown on my post, so you have given me a good start. At least I can look for a birth in Tetford around 1872, and find Johns parents? Maybe it opens up a whole new set of families for me.
Thanks again.

Mary 3 New Bolingbroke
Charles 1 Tetford
Lucy EVISON buried Tetford 14 Dec 1877 (31)

Hi Martin,
I also have some Evison's in my tree.

the only one I have more generations for is William. He married Ann Phillips and had children; Ann 1854, William 1849, Elizabeth c1853, Christopher c1858 and Mary 1847 all born in Navenby.
Ann 1854 married Alfred Mettam from Thurlby, they married in Nottingham.
Hope this of some use to you.

I'm also looking at Charles Vessey m Eliza Evison 1838.
I've found some lines for the Vesseys linking with Mumby family, eventually of Goxhill (Lincs), and I have found the Sykes ancestors of Eliza Evison, but haven't got very further back with the Evisons than Eliza's father William, b 1795.
Any clues gratefully appreciated!

Hi, I also have Evisons in my family. My great grandfather was William Evison, born circa 1841 Burgh le Marsh, Lincs. Parents were: Henry & Lucy Evison. He married Elizabeth Ellen Padey Black in 1867, in Spilsby.
Shortly after his marriage, he moved to the East End of London.
His children were: Elizabeth Ann 1869, Charlotte Ellen 1870, John William 1872, Emily Maria 1875, Sarah Catherine 1876, George Alfred 1878, Edith Gemima 1881, James Thomas 1883, and finally Jessie Alice 1885. Jessie Alice was my grandmother on my mother's side.
I have not got any further back than Henry & Lucy, as I have been mainly concentrating on my dad's side of the family, and I'm wondering if any of the people who have posted, have any connections to me? Would be happy to hear from anyone who has.
Regards Diana

Hi Trish, Thanks for the information on the Evisons. My grandmother on my mothers side was an Evison. She was Jessie Alice Evison before she married my grandfather who was Thomas Edgar Bonney. I made contact with a lady on here who is researching the Bonneys and she sent me a lot of information about them and photos also. Her mother is still alive, around 90 I think and she remembers my grandmother and her husband very well. I have not done too much research into the Evisons yet, as I have been mainly researching my father's side of the family, who was a Whitney and they came from Wales, but I will get there eventually!
Thanks once again,
Diana
