George & Rachel (nee Brown) Robinson were in Gosforth Durham in 1816 when their son George jnr was born.
That's all I know on the family until George jnr left Durham in 1856 and settled in Talbot Victoria Australia.
Where were they living in 1841
Many thanks

Hi Maureen,
Sorry couldn't see them in Gosforth 1841. Do you have their 1851 details?

Have not found the Robinson family on the 1851 Census.
George jnr Robinson son of George & Rachel nee Brown Robinson should have been in Durham in 1851 as he didn't arrive in Victoria Australia until August 1854 with his soon to be brother in law William Stephen Wilkinson.
Geroge Robinson daughter Margaret Ann Wilkinson was born 17 July 1854 in Wingate Durham to Elizabeth Wilkinson (sister to William Stephen Wilkinson). Both mother & daughter followed George Robinson 2 yrs later when they arrived in Victoria in 1856. George then married Elizabeth Wilkinson.
Elizabeth & William Stephen Wilkinson were listed on the 1851 Census at
Wheatley Hill, Wingate ref HO 107/2392 Folio 134 pag 6

Hi Maureen,
Found in 1851 census a George b.1816 which might be the one:
HO107/2392 fol.120 p.62 Wingate, Durham
George Robinson Head Mar. 35 Cintry Man(can't read it) b. Northumberland
Elizth. Brandess Svt. Unm. 23 b. Durham
Elizth. Robinson Dau. 1 "
I also found in 1851 a George & Rachel
HO107/2419 fol 290 p.22 Canongate St, Alnwick, Northumberland
George Robinson Head 74 Labourer Northumberland, Harlow Hill
Rachel " Wife 72 Durham, Barnard Castle
If you think these are the right ones I'll look them up in 1841

Many thanks for the info from the 1851 Census
I think you may have found George snr & Rachel Robinson in Harlow Hill, I will have to check out where exactly Harlow Hill is.
But Iam unsure if the other George Robinson at Wingate is George jnr.
George jnr's death certificate didn't mention a early marriage prior to Elizabeth Wilkinson, but it is possible. Will have to search for a early marriage, but there are lots of George Robinsons.
I would be greatful if you can find George & Rachel on the 1841 Census

Hi Maureen,
In 1851 George & Rachel were living in Canongate, Alnwick, not Harlow Hill, that's where George was born, and Rachel born Barnard Castle. Harlow Hill is in Northumberland, near Prudhoe. I've just found them in 1841, still in Canongate :
1841 census HO107/828/5 fol.11 p.14 Canongate, Alnwick, Northumberland
George Robinson 60 Miller Y (born in county)
Rachel " 60 N (not born in county)
Will now look for George jnr. to see if he was in Wingate in 1841 - as he wasn't with George & Rachel.
