Title: 1871 census look up please

Hi

I'm searching for a SOPHIA HAMMOND, born Rishangles, Suffolk, 1850.

She is still living with her family in Rishangles in 1861 - and in 1873 she married a JOHN HAWKES in St Johns, Southwark.  I find her next with the family in 1881 in West Ham.

Would be grateful for any info. Thanks

Hello Bambino,

There's a Sophia HAMMOND working as a Domestic House Servant in St John Southwark, aged 19. But her place of birth is London, Middlesex. She's working for Andrew Johnson, Clergyman, Grammar School House.

This could well be her - I've had other instances of ancestors in service place of birth being inaccurately recorded.
