Title: James Enderby
Post by: ozlady on Friday 03 February 06 02:16 GMT (UK)
Is anyone looking for James Enderby? His name came up while I was talking to my Dad. He was living in a village called Markham in the 1920's. That is in the Registration District of Bedwellty. James was a Cape Horner, came from Lincolnshire and was a rigger in the pit. He was the first man to be officially paid as a rigger in the coalfield. He married Mrs. Edgecock when her husband died so that she wouldn't be put out of her house.

 :) Dear Ozlady,

Just seen your post about James Enderby - I am researching the Enderby line in Lincolnshire - do you know who his parents were? or any other information on him?  Jane
