Title: 1841 census look up please - STEPNEY for COMTE

Hello,

I would really appeciate help with a look up on the COMTE family of Stepney.

I'm looking for the parents/siblings of a Charles COMTE born c. 1829 in Stepney.

In the 1851 census Charles COMTE is age 22 (Gun Maker) and married to May Ann Comte.  They are living in Mile End New Town in Stepney, and have two children.

         The name Comte is not listed in the 1841 census, are there any other Comte's in the 1851 census?

To my rescue again....

Yes, there are a few more Comte's in the 1851 census, but only a couple in London. 

There is an Elizabeth COMTE, visitor, birth place St. Giles, c. 1834 visiting a Charles and Mary Ann Smith in Holborn St. Andrew.

A Harriet Comte c. 1811 born Clapham, Surrey visitor to the Hart Family in Lambeth Surrey.

A nice sized family of Comte's from St. Austell, Cornwall, living in St. Austell, Cornwall.

A Le Comte from Sleaford, Linconlshire, living in Lincolnshire.

A Le Comte from Switzerland living in Clerkenwell, Middlesex.

Two Comte's from France working for a John Le Comte of France in St. Marylebone, Middlesex.

             Can't help you this time, there are no COMTE's listed in MY London 1841 name index.
I have tried LeComte, Com*.

I really appreciate your help anyway!

There were a bunch of "Comte's" marrying and christening children in and around Shoreditch, Bethnal Green and Stepney from 1807 to 1838 (according to IGI), but I just can't connect my Charles to them.

In 1841 there is a Charles Comte aged 10 living with his father David a Cabinet Maker and other children in Spitalfields.

If you think they may be who you're looking for let us know.
