Hi Madge,
I've only just noticed your post and was wondering how you were getting on with you research on your family from Hampreston?
The only reason I ask, is that I visit Hampreston quite regularly and was wondering if there was anything I could help you with.
Please send me a personal message if I can help in any way.

Dear Rebecca,
Thank you very much for kind offer. The only problems I am haviing is trying to find Monumental Inscriptions or burials for at least 4 or 5 children. 2 of them being twins, all with the surname FANCY, FANCEY or FANSIE, they all supposedly died before the age of 2 years.
Any help in trying to trace these would be most welcome
Regards

Hi Madge,
Sorry for the delay in replying ...... when I am next in Hampreston, I will pop over to the church yard and have a look and see if I can find any Fancys for you.

Rebecca

Hi Madge,
Do you know the Dorset OPC site yet / already ??
I entered "fancy hampreston" in the search engine with "Find ALL words" and got six entries, including
:) - 1 1861 census entry for Hampreston
:) - 1 Marriages Hampreston
:) - 1 Baptisms Hampreston
:( No Burials, unfortunately
:) I found another set of baptisms under "fancey hampreston"
:( Nothing at all for "fansie hampreston"
Any of your people there ?
Try other combinations in the search box, i. with PITT and Wimborne, etc, but remember to use "Find ALL words" and remember also, that Dorset OPC doesn't do "soundex" searches.
Good luck,
Bob

Hi Madge,
I have at last today had the chance to visit Hampreston church yard.
The only Fancy grave I found was for a Richard Fancy 'dearly beloved husband of Ellen Fancy who died Nov 26 1882 aged 42 years'
I have taken a couple of pictures of the grave, if you would like a copy, please PM me with your e-mail address.
