Title: Wiltshire Quarter Sessions
Post by: gbugden on Thursday 26 January 06 06:13 GMT (UK)
Hello :)
I have some sketchy data on a man who could be the brother of my English ancestor, John Bugden of Farley Wiltshire, who was transported to Australia in 1823/4

Wiltshire quarter sessions record.

Name: Robert BUGDEN
Date: 7 Apr 1835
Prison: County
Type: B
Age 21 (i.e. born in 1813)
Destination  - transported for life

Can anybody shed any details on this Robert Bugden, his family or his native place and crime?

Cheers Greg

Hi Greg,

some of your dates dont match , you say he was transported in 1823/4, then a bit further down you say 1835.  If he was born in 1813 and transported in 1823 that would make him only 10. Are you in UK or Aust.

Hi
Yes it does seem unclear. My ancestor was John Bugden who was transported and arrived in Australia in 1824. The man called Robert Bugden, who I suspect was his brother, was transported in 1835. The  details in my original post about the 1835 Quarter Sessions refer only to Robert.

 I am in australia.

Thank you for your interest..cheers Greg
