Title: whitehead
Post by: skipper on Friday 20 January 06 12:05 GMT (UK)
Any suggestions  please...I'm  chasing Whitehead connections.
I have a william  born abt.1830 in Dublin was carpenter in Aust.
His father also Wm.  date & place of birth unknown was listed as an "editor" & "gentleman".
I haven't had any sucess with Dublin as a starting point & have looked  at UK possibilities as  there maybe Wesleyan Lay- Preacher connections & also looked in the news &  printing  industry but so far nothing jumps out.Interested to find how (if correct) Wm snr. became a "gentleman" ..by inheritance or work skills
Any leads offered would be grateful.
Cheers,
Skipper   ;) :)

Hi Skipper,

Yes also chasing Whiteheads.  I am after William Whitehead too and found many, many of them in Lancashire around 1850's.  My William married a Jane from Scotland.  They had 4 children and then William died and Jane remarried to a John Wilson, they moved to Cumbria and had more children too.

Thanks

I went to school way back in the 70s with a girl whose name was Adrienne Whitehead. This was in the Waikato province of New Zealand   ;D
