I am researching the MATTHEWS family from Clifton Dunsmore & Rugby and Nuneaton areas. - My great great grandfather John Matthews was a coke dealer in Rugby near the gasworks.
Other surnames connecting to this line are
DRAKELY, ROUND, PETTIFER, DEWELL.
I am especially interested in a Bethsheba Drakely who married William Mattherws in Nuneaton 1821.

Hi
take a look on the lds site www.familysearch.org
and search on the igi bit, brings up a Bathsheba Drakely, but marrying in 1818 to William Matthews. Also a possible birth for her.

Hi thanks for that. I had accessed that a while ago, and was hoping that someone might be researching this line. I did notice though that there are more entries for Bethsheba. So thanks once again.

Hi, If you come accross a girl marrying a Slaughter around 1800. let me know, as I may have information that could help you then.
-
Hi, Thanks for that. I have not come across the name of Slaughter yet, will be in touch if I do!

Hi Julie,
Do your DEWELLs have any connections with Drayton Bassett, Warks?
I have a James DEWELL in my tree who was born in Drayton Bassett in 1820 son of John DEWELL and Hannah.
James married Sarah ARME in Drayton Bassett in 1857, then in 1894 he married my 2x G Grandmother Elizabeth HATTON nee JONES. James died in 1903.
If you can see any connection I would love to hear from you.

Hello!
My DEWELL is earlier I'm afraid.
Hannah DEWELL married William DRAKELY 20th Feb 1776 at Nuneaton. At the moment I've not gone back further on this line, but will do!

Hi Julie,
I don't seem to have sent you my notes on the Drakely family I will email them to you.
I have the parents of the William (bapt 1754 Nuneaton) who married Hannah Dewell as John Drakeley and Jane but no marriage for them.

Thanks David.
They have just arrived in my inbox. I have a very brief note that some Drakely's were canal/barge workers/owners and that some with the same name were also involved with fairgrounds.
How and if they fit I don't know, but sometimes even vague snippets fit in, otherwise they are simply interesting to read about!

James Dewell married my 2 x Gr Grandmother, Elizabeth Hatton in 1894 and although he is not a direct ancestor of mine I would be very interested in any further information you have on him and the items in your collection.
I would happily share the family history details I have for him if this is of interest to you.
One you have made three posts I can send you a personal message with my email address.
